The heart and its functions operate to create the essence of a life force. The heartbeat is the pulse of that life force. The heartbeat controls the rhythms or our lives; with each beat and vibration the body is sustained. Through the heart we feel emotion, pain, elation, passion and love. The swirl designs in the quilt are represented through textures depicted in the chambers of the heart.
